Every mile of the river is driven by Scouts! Scouts take the wheel, handle the lines, and manage the engineering functions of the vessel, all under the watchful eyes of the Captain and his crew. Great value for the Scouts, super adventure, and low stress on adults!
- Boy Scout Troop 351, Lewis & Clark District takes a weekend trip each summer to Sand Island at St Helens to do camping, cooking, and wilderness survival merit badges
- Pack 127, Silver Star District takes their Cub Scouts out for a barbque dinner on the river for a few hours each fall as a recruitment opportunity for their families involved and as an open house to invite boys and their families into Cub Scouting.
- Raingutter Regatta is a whole new adventure when

- Silver Beaver Association uses the RELIANT to host a cruise for alumni and sponsors a cruise at cost during Christmas Ships weeks as a reward for volunteering on projects throughout the year!
